A nonprofit that works to change unjust laws and policies that prevent Texans from realizing their full potential. They promote social and economic justice for all Texans by leveraging the skills and resources of volunteer lawyers and other professionals to identify practical solutions to difficult, systemic problems. They conduct data-driven research that uncovers inequity in laws and policies and identify solutions for lasting, concrete change.

Good Apple Dinner

The Texas Appleseed Board of Directors awards the J. Chrys Dougherty Good Apple Award as their highest recognition to luminaries whose work has helped shape Texas for the better at their annual Good Apple Dinner gala. Appleseed has honored many amazing Texans, from Charles Butt to Wallace B. Jefferson to Harriet Miers, and most recently, Robin Gibbs.
